June 29

June 30th, 2010 Frank Pilone

Today was a bit of a better day than the past week. While I was forced to wait until almost 5PM for the replacement PC to come, it did come. The first thing I did was open it up to inspect the innards. Considering this is a Small Form Factor system, I would have to pay more for expansion slots, but I do find that I would need more RAM, and a SATA card.

While much of the day was spent waiting, I did manage to chat with a friend – mostly relying on the PDA I got the day before. At least now, I would be able to use a computer that works properly to interface with it. Since I was forced to wait, and didn’t have food in the apartment, I was forced to spend about $15 to buy and have dinner delivered.

My evening and night was spent updating the PC’s OS, and other features. I needed to of course assure that my system was secured. And after a few failures, I managed to get iTunes installed. I feel part of my problem is the 512MB of memory which some is used is used for video memory, so that doesn’t make it better. At least it is in 2 modules rather than the expected 4.

As for plans for tomorrow, I would have to go grocery shopping. In addition, I would need to reorganize a few things, and eventually do more to get my replacement up and running the way it should be. I also have a couple of other things to do, which I would do when I get home.
